walk austria picture Intro Day
A walk through the valley bottom from the traditional village of Scheffau through to it’s larger neighbour Söll. The walk takes us along the river towards the picturesque “Moorsee” a small lake used for fishing and swimming in good weather.

The best way to get acclimatised and ease your muscles in gently. Once we arrive in Söll a chance to discover the village and it´s church, have some lunch or a snack and relax.
The return walk to Scheffau will take a slightly different route

Timing: 3 hours total
100m ascent and descent.

Day 2

First chance to get into the ´real` mountains we take the mountain cableway from Scheffau to the summit of the Brandstadl (1640m), weather permitting a walk to the summit will provide us with a great photo opportunity.
Our walk takes us along the aptly named “panorama walk” to the Hartkaiser with incredible views of the majestic Wilder Kaiser range of mountains. From the Hartkaiser we will descend down to the village of Ellmau with a easy leisurely walk back to Scheffau.

Timing: 5 – 5.5 hours total
800m descent

Day 3
You will be transported to the outskirts of Ellmau where we will walk along the base of the Wilder Kaiser through wooded and farming land, we will end up by the stunning mountain lake “Hintersteinersee”. A large natural lake and a real beauty spot, this is a well photographed location in Austria using the lake in the foreground and the stunning Wilder Kaiser as the backdrop, a day for the cameras.
Lunch stop will be taken at the lake with a chance to sample the fresh mountain water for a paddle.
The afternoon will take us through woods and tracks as we meander our way to Scheffau.

150m ascent, 200m descent

After a coffee and picture stop will descend to the middle station where we will have lunch before winding our way back down to the village of Söll following a wooded path.
